Winter Casual Trip to Miyakojima

Central Resort Miyakojima

Second stay after a year. I chose to stay again because it was good the last time. The view from the top floor room was also good.

BRUAL

I stopped by a hamburger shop in Miyako Island for lunch upon arriving at noon. I came here for the first time in a year. They had a wide selection of handcrafted hamburgers on the menu. When I come to a tropical island, I always crave a pineapple burger.

Bockley's Recipes

Visit after one year. A restaurant where you can enjoy dishes made from local ingredients and natural wines. I tried various dishes for the first time, such as southern fish, Ishichibiki, Makubu, Miyako fern, and pasta with komatsuna sauce. The conversation with the staff at the restaurant was also enjoyable.

Sakaba Sou

Second visit in a year. It's a bar that is easy to drop by. Enjoyed natural wines and domestically produced craft gins.

Painagama Beach

A beach located near the city center. When I first came here, I was surprised by how clear even this beach, situated at this location, is.

Irabu Ohashi Bridge

From the morning, I went to Irabu Ohashi. The weather was nice and the view of the sea was beautiful. There was more traffic than I had thought, and I felt it was a little dangerous to ride a bicycle while taking pictures, so I walked instead. I didn't have much time, so I walked about halfway across the bridge and then turned back.

Teuchi-Soba Kamata

A restaurant that offers hand-made soba noodles using flour from Miyako Island. I ordered the tempura zarusoba. It was clean and delicious soba. There was goya in the tempura. I also ordered goya pickles and ate them. It was delicious.

Ningin Coffee

I went to a shop that offers hand-drip coffee. It is a takeout-only store, but there are chairs in front of the shop where you can also enjoy your drink. The weather was good that day, and I enjoyed my coffee in a tropical mood.

Izakaya Mishore

I asked the locals for a recommended Okinawan restaurant. I tried Irabu Chaa, a high-class Okinawan fish, for the first time. I also had some awamori after a long time. The pork and winter melon had a light broth that soaked into the cartilage, making it very tender. The small dish, like pickled island shallots, was also delicious and very enjoyable.

Garimpeiro

I went to the bar I had been interested in. I enjoyed natural wines, rum from Iejima in Okinawa, and Vietnamese cuisine at a nice atmosphere counter seat. The food menu is not only Vietnamese cuisine, but I ended up ordering in a tropical mood (laughs).

Kurima Ohashi Bridge

Cross the Kurima Ohashi Bridge and head to Kurima Island. It's my second time crossing it in a year. The aqua blue sea spreading out under the bridge is breathtaking. Compared to Irabu Ohashi, there is less traffic, so you can enjoy the beautiful sea slowly.

AOSORA PARLOR

Crossing over to Kajima Island to quench my thirst. Among the many smoothies available, I chose one with a taste of the sea.

Farmer's Restaurant Rakuen no Kajitsu

I ordered fruit gratin from the menu using locally grown fruits. It was a fresh gratin and included pumpkin inside.

Yonahamaehama

This is my second time coming. Just like the first time I came, the transparency of the sea is breathtaking. The sandy beach has a texture like fine powder. There are few people because it is off-season, so I was able to leisurely enjoy this view.

Hasamer's Mart

On the way back to the hotel, I got takeout tacos. I had them at the hotel. The seasoning of the meat was good, and the tacos were very delicious.

BOCCA BURGER

I ordered a hamburger that came with a side of bagna cauda. The patty was thick. The hamburger looked like it had a lot of volume, but surprisingly, I ate it all easily.

Mozuku Noodle Ntsubata

Head to a restaurant that offers soba noodles with Miyako-jima seaweed kneaded in. The noodles had a unique characteristic of being smooth yet firm. It is recommended to enjoy the noodles tangled with the topping of seaweed. The tempura also contains seaweed. Furthermore, there was also gelato with seaweed in it (laughs). Everything was delicious.

soraniwa hotel and cafe

Accommodation in Irabujima Island. A private lodging facility with only 5 rooms. Since there was time until check-in, I spent time working in the cafe space on the second floor with a view of the sea.

soraniwa hotel and cafe

It's time to check in and head to the room. The sea could be seen from the window, creating an atmosphere like a private room in a tropical paradise. I spent the day slowly in the room without moving anymore.

soraniwa hotel and cafe

Having dinner in the cafe space during the daytime. The atmosphere changes again when the sun sets, doesn't it? The course meal using locally sourced ingredients was more fulfilling than I had expected.

soraniwa hotel and cafe

I had breakfast on the terrace on the first floor. It was nice to enjoy our meal while feeling the pleasant tropical breeze. It was also nice to have Japanese food, which was in contrast to dinner.

Toguchi no Hama

After breakfast, I went to the beach on Irabu Island for some exercise. The transparency of the sea was high and it was a beautiful beach.

Pinagama Beach Club

I returned to Miyako Island from Irabu Island and went to a cafe along Painagama Beach. The weather was nice from the morning and the sea was very beautiful. I enjoyed a smoothie made with island banana and Miyako Island-grown melon while overlooking the sea from a window seat.
