Spring stroll in Kobe

I have visited Kobe several times during my travels, and this time I properly toured attractions such as Kitano Ijinkan District, Kobe Port Tower, and Arima Onsen. Kobe also has a good selection of restaurants. It was a lot of fun.

Seven

A Showa-era atmosphere coffee shop in a new town. I ordered a mixed sandwich and banana juice. It's a menu that makes I want to order in a Showa-style coffee shop.

Kitano Tenman Shrine

There is a shrine on Kitanozaka. You can overlook the cityscape of Kobe from the grounds.

Weatherrock House

A mansion built by a German merchant as his residence. It was closed for renovation work due to earthquake-proofing measures.

Moeki House

A mansion built in 1903 as the residence of the American Consul General. As its name suggests, the impressive green exterior walls stand out.

Starbucks Kobe Ijinkan

A shop using a Western-style building built in the Meiji era. Starbucks, which blends into the atmosphere of the town, is often seen in tourist areas.

UNIZO INN Kobe Sannomiya

New and clean business hotel. Good access to the Kitanozaka area.

Ali's Halal Kitchen

I went to a Pakistani cuisine specialty restaurant near the hotel. Kobe gives the impression of having many multinational restaurants. I ordered Biryani with Pakistani Basmati rice. I chose the normal spiciness, but personally, I think I could have handled it a bit spicier.

Bar Puzzle

To my favorite bar. Anyway, they have a wide variety of gin, so I always drink something different each time. The gin with curry spices has a somehow addictive taste. The conversations with the master and other customers were also enjoyable.

Arima Onsen Town

On the second day of the trip, we went to Arima Onsen. It wasn't very crowded, but there were a lot of foreign tourists.

Taiko no Yu

There is also an episode that Toyotomi Hideyoshi often came to Arima Onsen for medical treatment. Based on that, I headed to a hot spring facility named Taiko no Yu. The Kin no Yu contained iron and was a yellow hot spring.

Arime Brewery

After hot springs, I wanted to drink beer. There happened to be a craft beer brewery nearby. The beer named Japan Ale uses Yamadanishiki rice and has a refreshing taste with the flavor of rice.

Gonsoba

For lunch, I went to a soba shop in the hot spring town. I ordered a three types of soba plate. The yellow soba called tatara soba had an impressive flavor. The soba broth was also yellow.

nofasa winebar

To a natural wine bar. The deep red beets are from Kobe. It is a street-level store near Sannomiya Station, away from the hustle and bustle, and a quiet place to drink.

Dice Kitchen

Kobe, which also has many curry restaurants. I went to try the spice curry. Among the three varieties, the keema curry was the most delicious. It seems that the concept of the cafe and bar is rock music and spice curry.

Nikai no Frank

I felt like drinking coffee, so I entered a shop that seemed nice. I was able to have a very delicious coffee. The coffee snacks were also delicious. It's a shop with different types of coffee that I would like to visit again.

Heta no Yokozuki

To the shop where you can drink craft beer on tap. The beers they offer are all from overseas. They were delicious beers, as they seemed to prioritize freshness. The raisins soaked in whiskey were also delicious.

LAGUNA THE BAR

An authentic bar with a long counter as its characteristic feature. You can quietly enjoy a drink in an adult atmosphere. The building was designed by Tadao Ando.

kerun

I checked out of the hotel and went to a nearby restaurant known for its omurice. It was indeed delicious. In addition to omurice, I had a variety of menu items, so if I lived nearby, it would definitely be a place I would visit regularly.

Kobe has different atmospheres depending on the area such as around Sannomiya Station, Kitanozaka, and Motomachi, and there are various shops, making it a city where you can feel a unique personality even in the city. I definitely want to come and play here.

I live in Kumano City, which is blessed with abundant nature. I often take trips to places Nanki-Kumano and various other regions across Japan. I enjoy exploring local cuisine and drinks. I travel by train and folding bicycle, without using a car. The folding bicycle I ride is the DAHON Dove Plus.
