Sprint trip to Miyazaki city.
In late March, I went on my first trip to Miyazaki. There were many restaurants around Miyazaki Station, and I enjoyed eating and drinking😄 I also visited tourist spots such as Miyazaki Jingu and Aoshima.

Booza
First lunch after arriving in Miyazaki. A restaurant with water dumplings, vegetables, and rice. The water dumplings were chewy. The side dishes were all healthy. It was simply delicious.

Comfort Hotel Miyazaki
I stayed at a Comfort Hotel where I have stayed many times in other cities. The hotel in Miyazaki is also new, clean, and comfortable. It is a bit far from the station, but there are many restaurants around and the location is good.

Miyazaki Jingu
Ise Jingu, familiar to the people of Mie Prefecture like me. In Miyazaki, there is a shrine called Miyazaki Jingu. It enshrines Emperor Jimmu, who is considered the first emperor, as the enshrined deity. It seems that this shrine started using the name "Jingu" after the Taisho era.

Kōgu Jinja
A shrine dedicated to Emperor Jinmu as a deity. It is also known as a branch shrine of Miyazaki Shrine. It quietly sits apart from Miyazaki Shrine. The stone monument says it is the birthplace of the Imperial Army.

Homestyle Cooking Juju
I went to an izakaya where we could enjoy local Miyazaki dishes. I had chicken soup hot tofu, eggplant tempura, and the Miyazaki local chicken grilled over charcoal.

Beer Market BASE
Head to the beer bar directly operated by Beer Market BASE (B.M.B.) brewery in Miyazaki. It was my first time trying B.M.B.'s beer. The variety of unique beers, such as Nyambarabambansumuji with bananas and a beer with amazing chocolate foam, left a strong impression (lol). But they were all delicious.

Aoshima Station
On the second day of the Miyazaki trip, I head to Aoshima. I will walk from Aoshima Station to Aoshima.

Yayoi Bridge
The Yayoi Bridge leading to Aoshima.

Devil's Washboard
A famous spot in Aoshima, the Devil's Washboard. It is said that this name comes from the sandstone that has been weathered by the waves over many years to resemble a giant washboard. It connects to the scenery along the coast from Koza to Kushimoto in Nanki Kumano.

Aoshima Jinja
The shrine in Aoshima had a tropical feel. Many people came to worship.

Shushidokoro Mansou
I returned to Miyazaki Station to have lunch. I went to a longstanding sushi restaurant that has been in business for over 40 years. The friendly master taught me various things about Miyazaki. The tuna was as soft and chewy as in Kumano. ☺️

Heiwadai Park
The weather was good so I went to the park. I came with a light heart, but when I started walking, I realized it was quite vast. This year, the cold weather persisted since late March, causing the cherry blossoms on Honshu to bloom late, but the cherry blossoms in this park were in full bloom. From the observation deck, I could get a panoramic view of the city.

Heiwa Tower
I was curious about the giant tower that could be seen from the observation deck and decided to head towards it. It was possible to climb up the tower halfway with stairs, and the view from there was also good.

Renshiro Coffee
I took a coffee break because I had been moving since morning. I liked the carefully brewed cafe latte and visited the place every day.

Bar Restaurant Naoki
For dinner, I went to a restaurant where I could enjoy local Miyazaki ingredients. I tried various dishes such as carrots grown with horse manure, smoked salmon raised in clean water, sweet leeks, and locally-raised chicken confit. The staff kindly explained to me about the ingredients.

Craftbeer and Whisky, Sonayoru ga Attemoii
The second stop was a bar. They had three types of craft beer on tap and a wide variety of whiskey. I imagined it would be a casual bar, but it turned out to really enjoy craft beer and whiskey.

Garage Coffee
I went to a coffee specialty store near the station. I was able to choose from several types of beans for hand drip coffee. The bright atmosphere inside the store and the young staff were friendly and talked to me. Since it's close to the station, I also had a cup here on the last morning.

Florante Miyazaki
On the way, I stopped by a botanical garden. On that day, there were many tulips blooming in the garden.

Shosenkyu
I went to the natural hot springs at Phoenix Seagaia Resort. The distance from the reception to the hot spring facilities was longer than I expected. The hot spring had a slightly cloudy and viscous quality. The warming effect lasted.

Charcoal-grilled local chicken Suisen
I went to a restaurant specializing in Miyazaki jidori for dinner. I enjoyed various dishes such as dumplings made with jidori, grilled red chicken thigh meat, rare cuts "Furisode", and fried chicken breast. Everything was delicious.

BAR TOMOAKI
A bar with an impressive green interior. I ordered a green cocktail to match the decor. In the end, I had a red cocktail (laughs).

WONDER3 by THREE
I entered the wine bar apprehensively because the lighting inside looked dark from the outside, unsure if they were open for business. However, inside, a gentle master warmly welcomed me. The conversation flowed and the wine was also very delicious.

bar METRO
It was past midnight, but I decided to go to another bar (laughs). The friendly master welcomed me. Soon, regular customers arrived and it became lively. I joined in the conversation and had a fun night. I haven't had bourbon highballs much before, but I found them delicious. I might get hooked on this bar (laughs).

Ippei Sushi
On the last morning. I decided to eat Miyazaki's specialty and head back. I ate lettuce wraps at the restaurant where they were first made. I could feel the attention to detail in the homemade mayonnaise and the firm seaweed.
Miyazaki is located to the south of Kyushu, so I felt a tropical vibe. The people in the restaurants were friendly and easy to talk to, making my time there very enjoyable. I definitely want to come back again!

Profile
I live in Kumano City, which is blessed with abundant nature. I often take trips to places Nanki-Kumano and various other regions across Japan. I enjoy exploring local cuisine and drinks. I travel by train and folding bicycle, without using a car. The folding bicycle I ride is the DAHON Dove Plus.
